Grub

One of my friends, colleagues and most favorite people is Bryant Terry, who is co-author of a new book entitled Grub and a cutting-edge chef, thought leader and activist. Eat Grub is the product of many years of Bryant’s work in local foods, food justice and the bridging of the rich culinary and lifestyle trends in local and slow foods with communities of color in urban areas. As founder of Be Healthy in Brooklyn, NYC, Bryant was inspired to bring the message of healthy and mindful eating crafted by middle class foodies to brown folks in cultural frames that are more appropriate to their sensibilities and interests. Bryant is one of the few African American men in this country talking about this stuff at a high level. And his word is getting out. Best of all, Bryant just moved to Oakland! Check out Bryant’s work and book at eatgrub.org.
