People’s Grub Parties
People’s Grocery, in collaboration with Bryant Terry, an Oakland-based chef, thought leader and co-author of “Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen”, will be hosting monthly “PEOPLE’S GRUB PARTIES.” These parties will to bring West Oakland residents together to celebrate the relationship between food, community and culture, learn about the connections between diet, nutrition and health and engage in People’s Grocery’s effort to ensure access to healthy, affordable food for all.
Each party will feature a cooking demonstration by a guest chef, a tasting of their food, free bags of produce from our farm, a workshop led by our Peer Nutrition Educators and a performance by a notable poet and/or musician, then dancing and celebration.
Our first Grub Party is scheduled for Friday, October 12th and will continue once a month.
