PG Workday September 23, 2007

People’s Grocery is planning another workday Sunday, September 23, from 9-2, at the Sunol AG Park. If you haven’t come before, now is your chance to get involved. It should be a wonderful day with lots of exciting exchanges. We will be harvesting our bountiful summer crops and preparing for the winter season.

This is a big moment for us and we’re looking for more hands to help out in the work So come on out and spend half of a day working the land and planting the seeds to help feed the people of the West Oakland community and transform our local food system. This is sure to be a fun and meaningful time. People’s Grocery will have some food and drinks to provide, but feel free to bring a lunch of your own if you like.

We’ll meet at the People’s Grocery office (3263 Market St. Apt. #103) at 9:00 am while it’s still cool outside and return to Oakland by 2pm – plenty of time to chill out for the rest of the day. A 15-passenger van will be available for shuttling folks to Sunol. If you plan on driving yourself, please let Our Farm Manager, Jason Uribe, know. You will need to either follow us to the farm or have a cell phone to call Jason , if you plan on meeting us there. The main gate will need to be locked for security reasons, so a cell phone is needed to call, when you arrive. _If you want to join us please RSVP with Jason Uribe, Farm Manager for People’s Grocery at (510) 504-3664 (cell phone) or email at Jason@peoplesgrocery.org, by Friday 9/21/07.
