DONATE

DONATE to People's Grocery

The easiest, fastest and most effective way to help is to donate to People's Grocery. Your donation can send a youth to summer camp, subsidize the Mobile Market, buy supplies for the gardens or help us buy land to build an organic grocery store.

Here are some ways you can help right now:

Donate to our new Agricultural Park in Sunol

Donate to our general fund and help keep our programs running

Buy People's Grocery Gear

Want to help but short on cash? Try volunteering at one of our garden workdays, in the after school program or in our office. Click one of the links above to find out more.

A little note about the role of volunteers within our community:

Volunteering can be an extraordinary opportunity for building powerful relationships between diverse communities and is a way in which people can make meaningful contributions to a cause. In an effort to build a strong base of volunteers committed to social justice, we ask those who are not from West Oakland to be aware and sensitive of their role and relationship to the community.

While some of us are blessed with the privilege of having enough time and money to volunteer with important efforts, People's Grocery does not support the idea that one class or group of people are better positioned to help another class or group. We believe that everyone has unique and valuable contributions and that volunteers often get as much out of an experience as they give to it. This reciprocal relationship is at the heart of why People's Grocery works with volunteers from diverse neighborhoods and is critical to building a true multi-racial movement for food justice.
