PG farm is people powered!

January 27th, 2008
People’s Grocery has a 2 acre farm 35 minutes outside of Oakland in sunny Sunol, Ca. The People’s Grocery Farm is PEOPLE POWERED!

So you ask yourself what does people power mean in terms of farming? It means we can’t do it without you! Our farm is hand cultivated: we plant by hand, weed by hand, and harvest by hand. As with many small profits we are rich in human capital, you!  I was told last month by a volunteer that without a tractor, each acre needs 40hours of human labor each week to manage it. We can all do the math, that means we need you! Please join our efforts to bring about a change in the health and economy

New People’s Grocery Myspace!!!

December 18th, 2006

myspace.com/peoplesgrocery

People’s Grocery has been looking for more efficient ways to put the word there about People’s Grocery. We have tried many different methods of advertising a such as: fliers, public speaking, fund raisers, we even flew eight staff members, two interns, and a contracted worker all the way to the District of Columbia to go to a Rooted In Community ( R.I.C) conference and visited organizations along the east coast contributing to the Food Justice movement just like us. Those methods  were all quite effective and were still looking for more.

This time we’re using My space. My space has over 140 million members and still counting. Sometimes I feel like Myspace has few too many creeks and
